Cathy is a native of Virginia with a BA degree in Fine Art and Art History. In addition to being a painter, she has spent more than 35 years as a principle and creative director for advertising and marketing companies since 1974, both in the traditional and digital space, with a speciality in creating marketing promotions and brand identities.
Cathy believes that art can be a catalyst for the expression of concepts that inspires thought and reflection for the viewer. Bringing ideas and concepts to life through art is a key component of much of her work. She believes, "For artists, painting is like meditation in that it soothes the mind and energizes the spirit at the same time."
Her preferred art mediums include acrylic and digital painting. She describes herself as a philocalist. Her style is illustrative realism and eidetic whimsy and her favorite subjects are nature and interpreting conceptual ideas into images.
A portion of any art proceeds is donated to promoting animal welfare and humanitarian efforts.
